An Exciting Summer is on the Horizon!

These pictures............they are of the front yard at our new house. Yup, we are moving! And we are very excited! We put an offer on a house last week and it was accepted. Yesterday afternoon we had a home inspection done and it went very well. We sign a purchase and sale next week and then we will be closing at the end of June.

The house is on almost 3/4 of an acre. The yard needs a lot of attention as the current owners haven't maintained it very well. We aren't worried about it though and it probably won't be a priority until next year. The house needs some updating. We'd like to put in hardwood floors and redo the kitchen and one of the baths. Other than that it just need some freshening up with paint :)
Needless to say July and August should be busy.............a good busy though :)

Sounds like you will be busy this summer, but it also sounds like a lot of fun!

Good luck! I hope you post pictures of your progress!

I'm SO jealous - I want a yard! And a grill! And a pool! And a . . . better not go down that thought path . . .

Awww, Mary...CONGRATULATIONS!!! See, I told you it would happen when it was right :). What a beautiful yard you have...and you are absolutely right. A fresh coat of paint can make a huge difference. Other small things that can "spiff up" the look for a reasonable amount of money--new cabinet/drawer hardware, nice new switchplates, new light fixtures or at least new shades for existing fixtures, new doorknobs. You'd be amazed at how much those things perk a house up! I am just so darn excited for you guys! When's the housewarming party? BWAHAHAHA!

Ooh a new house. I wish we could move, except for the whole selling our house and the whole moving all of our junk deal.
I'm sure T-man will be loving the big yard.

Wow. You're moving too? Good, someone I can complain with in all the glory of PACKING!

What a beautiful property. Just one question, as a girl from San Diego, what's a "yard?"
