It all started with the "bidada"

For those of you that read my last post about all of the bed time fun we have with Thomas Trouble, I wanted to tell you about how all of this started.

You can blame this. The dog pinata or also known as the "bidada" in our house.

This lovey thing was beat to smithereens at Abby's 5th birthday party this past May. It kind of makes sense, you know, beating a dog. I could totally see how that could scare the bajesus out of a little kid! It's actually kind of sick when I think about it. However, Thomas Trouble was afraid of that "bidada" before it was even hung up. Which means that was before it was even hit with the bat. Shear terror took him over when he saw this thing! TERROR. Needless to say, he did not participate.

That night I'm convinced he had a nightmare about that "bidada." He woke up hysterical and ended up in our bed. The following night, he went a little hysterical again at bed time, in his room, demanding to know that the "bidada" was in the trash. This went on for about two months. NO JOKE. Asking every night where the "bidada" is. "Mama, the bidada's in the trash?" "Yes Thomas. The pinata is in the trash. The trash man took it away." Although he doesn't ask every night any more, he still does occasionally ask about the "bidada." And usually when we go to Abby's house, he's a little timid at first until we all tell him there is NO "BIDADA!"

So should we get him a pinata for his 3rd birthday this year?

I'm sure he'd love a pinata for is b-day. Poor guy, the other night Maggie was afraid of her cd player, who know what's up with them sometimes.

Awww . . . poor bubba! Someday, when he is sleeping through the night in his own room, that story will be hilarious!

Poor little guy. I could definitely see how this could be scary to a child. I would probably pass on the pinata! :)

No. No. No pinata! Whoa! Poor guy. It is amazing the things that frighten them, isn't it?
